I found this disturbing. . . .

I was responding to a discussion of a young man who was having relationship problems with his homosexual partner. And at least two of the posts did not offer him advice on how to solve the situation instead they found it necessary to condemn his way of life. They both also told him to "find God." Now, I am Wiccan, and as far as I know my God and Goddess don't have any problems with homosexuality. It is not a way of life I would choose, I am not built that way, but neither would I condemn it. Is anyone else disturbed by this? I thought the hearts and minds of the mylot community were more open than that!

The myLot community is just the same as any other community. Why you would think the people are different then the whole world, I don't know. When someone asks any kind of question, they are exposing themself to the attitudes of anyone who stumbles across the question, it is unfortunate but true. The answers that those people gave are probably what they feel is a solution to the problem.

I suppose you are right, I didn't think of it that way.

I think I know which discussion you are talking or at least I saw one similar. I was a bit upset at seeing them condemn him. In my opinion they were out of line. If it is the same discussion I saw I even posted to one saying that. There are times and places for such thing not there. The man needed some help with a situation; he did not need them there to try and mkae him feel worse. He had enough to deal with without having their attitudes added on to what his lover was doing to him. All that would do is put his self esteem down lower. No one needs that. If a woman had posted about the fact that her male lover was verballing abusing her and someone posted to her condemning her for living in sin and that it wouldn't happen if she was following God's law other members who have jumped all over them telling them how wrong they were for doing it. So why the double standard? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Well, everybody here in mylot is entitled to his/her opinion, maybe they were just merely trying to convert him or tell him what he has to do (according to their ways) to prevent him from experiencing such problems again. Since this is a very international diversed community we all have to respect each others views, we all have different cultures and we all have different ways of coping or solving our problems. To each his own as they say :)
