Cars and the gas station and having to back up.

My family went to go to do shopping today and we stopped at the gas station to get gas.Well my husband returned to the car after paying for gas and getting the kids some milk and hisself some pop.Well as he was returning to the car a minivan pulled up to the front of me to get gas.Well I was going to back up so they waited and I had to back up to go around them so they could pull up and take my pump.Now I have nothing against backing up at the pump if someone gets out and is preceeding to pump their gas.But what peeves me is that they waited until I backed up and then pulled up to take the gas pump I was at.I felt like just sitting their and they would have had to got out and pumped thier gas.And then I would have backed up and left.I think that was kind of rude making me have to back up just so they could take my pump when I left.What about you has anything ever happend to you before like that?

They didn't really "make" you back up. If they had hinked at you or something, that would not have been right, But, all they did was wait for you to leave so that they would not have to back up when they were done, because someone probably would have come to the other pump while they were there. They just wanted the next car to be behind them so they could just pull forward when they were done. I see no harm in that. I've done it before myself when I have seen someone getting back in their car. Maybe they are not comfortable backing up in such a busy area.

-Although, it would have been more polite to wait behind you so you could just pull forward, if they were going to wait for you to leave anyway.

It was not a busy area their were only 2 cars thier at the time.And I consider it rude I usually just get out and pump my gas.I dont wait if I see someone coming out that car and getting in regardles if thier getting ready to go or not.I can understand cars waiting behind you until you leave.And their was no one waiting on the gas pump I was in.Thier were plenty others.Like I said I should have just sat thier and then they would have just had to get out and pump thier gas.
