Long distant relationships?

I've been speaking with a guy for over a year, and we're super close, to the point where we e-mail eachother everyday. BUt he lives in US, but theres still the attraction between us and we chat and talk.
Can a long distance relationship work if you never see eachother?

I have had 2 relationships like this, one worked out and one didn't.
If you are both putting in the effort and have been honest with each other then I can't see why it wouldn't work out.
One of my relationships failed because, although he was willing to say he loved me and wanted to spend his life with me, he did virtually nothing to stay in contact with me, so it was like being on an emotional roller coaster.
The second relationship worked because we communicated with each other and could talk for hours about all kinds of things. I only physically met him three times before I agreed to marry him and moved about 2000km to be with him. We lived together for a year and then got married and have now been married for 8 years.
The only thing is that you will have to meet at some point and since you are close I would recommend the sooner the better.

I have had a long distance relationship with a man in America for the past 4 years, we have met once in that time, we are committed to each other and have sorted out most hurdles there has been to overcome. But every day I miss him and there has been times its been so painful I wish I had never met him. But we give each other something that was missing in our lives and every day we touch base some way, hes a big part of my life and even tho it is solely internet based it does work. We have been completely honest with each other and when we did meet after 18mths there werent any surprises, just confirmation of how much we loved each other.

You could always reamin really close friends without ever seeing each other but you would never be able to take it any farther then that without seeing one another .
