which linux is good for newbie

Hi all suya just want to start using Linux OS [learning to programming], since suya was a newbie which linux is better? Mainstream? Redhat? Debian? etc? please help suya with some detail of each type

hi, You havent mentioned what programming are you trying to learn ,... i mean you are trying to learn perl, awk, c, c++, shell programming,.... and also the type of linux depends on your requirement... like whether you want very user friendly UI,... features,... space,... on an average you can go for Redhat, mandrake, slackware,.... debian is too heavy in terms of space,... i hope any of the three linuxes should be good enough for you... :)

Firstly suya want to try to get use with Linux as a secondary OS for home and office work, then suya would like to learn about programming. Suya heard that PCLinuxOS is good, where can suya get it?

You can also try Ubuntu. I tried it and it's easy to install but i couldn't configure my internet connection because i need to install a driver for my ADSL modem that run only on windows so i gave up!
