YOu are sturggling to make ends meet and to find time to keep your sanity. Everyone gives you advice but it is not too often thatyou have the chance to think abou tthe things that would really help you out. What products or services would you use if you could find them for a reasonable price, or for barter, online?

as a single mother, i do face day to day struggles. Though i do not get advice from my mother and actually get get critized that i am single mother from her, so i do not get that much support from her, though my sister helps me tremdiously but i hate having to depend on her all the time because she has 2 children of her own. I do alot of my shopping at walmart or thrigt stores. Snacks for lunches get bought at the dollar store and i clip coupons where ever i can.

Hi Sagemother, I've been a single mother for nearly 15 years now and found most of my help from family and friends 'donating' their second hand items to me. To be honest it's only the last few years that I've been able to afford new and start living again! I think with the advent of Ebay life is getting a little easier as some of the clothes and day to day stuff goes really cheap. It would be a good idea if you could barter with big companies for the larger more expensive items and perhaps do some work for them for a couple of hours a week to pay it off.

I dont have small children any more but I do know from young friends of mine who are single parents it is the cost of daycare that is their biggest problem as they have to work had to support their children but the daycare or sitter charges just eat up so much of their earnings it is hardly worth working. Now I know why so many young mothers prefer to take a welfare check and stay home with their children
