Filipino cuisine is a combination of the east and the west. We are a melting pot of different cultures, combination of great cuisine from the east and west. Filipino simply loves a great food. i guess that's why many people around the world love our food.

well filipino cuisine is unique of course.... im a filipino and i love our food, from northern to southern philippines.... I've been to china and their food is also unique.... in one way or another some of the dishes they have is also in their menu (vice versa). In the US, food is the same, just that they don't eat rice that much like us asians....

Filipino cuisine is characterized not only of combinations of other countries' cooking, but within the country itself are wide variations of style, ingredients, preferences. What makes it great is the fact that we can easily pull ideas from all these different cuisines to make one that captures a certain taste we are looking for. A certain family may make an "adobo" which taste quite differently from another family's. No filipino cuisine is therefore similar because it all differs on cultural and geographic grounds.

I see you're Filipino. I think that you feel Filipino cuisine stand out because it's the one cuisine which reminds you of home. Of your childhood, of your loving mother and grandmother. It warms your heart. It is how I feel about my mother's cooking (I'm of Chinese descent so my mom cooks mostly Chinese food). And how my husband feels about his mother's cooking. :D

Filipino cuisine is a mix of several dishes that came from other countries. Since we were colonized and governed by several countries, their traditions, as well as their cooking styles have been mixed with Filipino cuisine. That's why we have a variety of dishes that most people like and since most Filipinos like to eat, they usually create their own style of cooking. Primarily rice dishes and several deserts are the best from Pinoy cooking.

For me, filipino cuisines are very great. My father likes to cook filipino cuisines and we like it very much. I must say that filipinos cook from their heart, thats the very important ingredient if you are really good in cooking. Filipino cuisines are caused for lavish celebrations among filipinos. The usual festive table are delicious hor soup to tickle the appetite, followed by several delicious dished, the main ingredients of which are pork, beef, poultry, fish and vegetables. Salads are served inbetween courses to relieve the palate of that feeling of fullness until all the dished offered have been tried and tested. This gives the impression that the food is very gratifying if there is nothing left on the serving plates. The desert gives the sweeping finis to the gourmets eating experience. Deserts come in various form and concoctions from native sweets, pastillas, cakes, pies to frozen deserts like sherbets, parfaits or ice cream. The native desserts are fine confections that suggest the particular region which are known for them.
