Yes of course they have advantages. It is like an ugly wrapped gift versus an attractive wrapped gift. People will always pick the attractive wrapped pne without even knowing what is inside the gift. we did a test at a party once. We put the best gift in ugly wrapping and a gag gift in the most attractive wrapping. 9 out 10 people opened the attractive gift and recieved the worse gifts. Only a very few opened the ugly wrapped gift, but they got the best gift. It is all about looks and appeal. But some of the best gifts are in the ugliest wrapping. LOL

I think beauty is a form of bribe, lol ,but beautiful people can't be charged with bribing coz they can't do away with their beauty ,even if they want to:-P I think, beautiful people are taken to be beautiful hearts ,too, until they express themselves through words or deeds and for many it's true that they are gifted with a beautiful heart and mind as well.Beauty of the soul is indeed beauty of a different kind and one that's permanent, well,at least life long..however,long that life is.I can't say I am not taken in by beautiful looks ,but ,a beautiful soul and a beautiful mind are what create more ripples in my heart than a beautiful face.

Yes, being beautiful is certainly an advantage. It's not certain why. Studies show that even toddlers prefer beautiful people. It's possibly to do with the fact that early man associated good looks with health. Or perhaps that in the early days, the most successful male got the most beautiful female as his spouse and they tended to produce children who were both beautiful and successful. I do feel sorry for very clever people who are not good-looking though - they are forever being overlooked in favour of people better looking but less clever for jobs where looks don't matter and brains do.

you are just right and spoke my mind, as always. i really appreciate. yes, CLEVER, more deserved ppl lose out to good looks many a times. in professional sphere it should be brains and not looks that should be desirable (except for front office and face-matter-jobs...). but nowadays, with changing business strategies and ethics, good look, most of the times, is being given priority to ensure more business and growth. thank you

I would like to know, if you made your conclusion after you read the said 'study', or that study, just affirmed your belief, that you already had in your mind at the first place? Also, I think I am handsome, but the world thinks that I look like a clown, so whose opinion should matter to me? Further, I like a woman. I think she's the most sensual woman I have ever seen. My friend wonders what I liked in her? For him, she's a bit to fat than normal, a bit too dusky to be called wheatish, a bit too shy to be called confident. But the fact is, that I like her. So, as I see it, beauty is something relative, and can not be generalised. Those 'studies' are meant to give a general opinion on a particualr thing, which somehow is not applicable to things of relativeness like beauty. So, just look at the mirror, and feel good about yourself. I am sure, that everyone has got his/her own reasons to celebrate life. Forget about theories, advantages and disadvantages. Just enjoy life. Cheers!

i really appreciate your view point, agree to it partly though. firstly, i have referred to GOOD LOOKS only. what you feel about your girlfriend and vice versa is more an outcome of your interdenpendence and the love you share. Infact, all the instances, which you have cited, are biased and relative. inner beauty and, in some cases, surface beauty is indeed relative and opinionated, but don't you feel that there is one standardisation in beauty and some ppl are beautiful generally. (here, i am talking about only good surface looks). the so called beauty pageants and celluloid have many, more or less, beautiful faces and here, i am referring to them and some more beauties of this kind. .....and yes, this is not a rendition of what I feel. what i have referred to is proven and the survey is taken by CNN news channel in USA. it says that orators can actually gather more votes by virtue of their good looks, more than beautiful values and minds! lastly, i am not into much of theories and worldly ways, i live by my own values and i enjoy it no matter what. However, I do feel beautiful ppl (in the sense of good looks) are definitely in an advantageous position in, if not all, but certainly in some spheres in life. Thank you.

I didn't knew, someone who starts of with hardly writng a couple of lines in the main discussion, could expand her thoughts THIS BIG in comments section! I know what you want to say, and you have explained your point(s) clear enough. Just an out of context comment, try to write these points at the right/more suitable place - there in the original discussion, they can fetch you a couple of more cents! You can then spend them in purchasing some of your favorite make-up items/cosmetics! Cheers!

it seems, you are one of those know-it-all kind. anyways, its fun having you in here. dude, you being a novice, rather try and follow my tips. look when we start an abstract discussion like "what is life' or a review kind of thing, we should always be intricately decriptive and manifest in detail (like you do irrespective of all kinda posts, i guess for making a few more cents. good for you, keep it up and buy your girl cosmetics). however, there are discussions, like 'general opinions', 'what is your take' kind of discussions, its always advisable to let the discussion grow and unfold itself in due course and leave scope for points and counter points. i think that will be all for today. smiles...

htere's nothing to "feel". it is a fact that beautiful people have more to enjoy than ordinary people. people get attracted by beauty first, haven't u heard about "face value"?

Dear Mimpi, As much as I can agree with your notion above, I have to say that those lines are only true when you look at it from one side of the story...=) Good looks apart from bringing many advantages as listed down by every response here, it also brings disadvantages and risks. It attracts as many lunatic admirers as normal ones. It shields the bearer from receiving sincerity from people. And the most dangerous factor is it can ruin the beauties' characters for being treated so ever nicely. The most pathetic thing, how far will that last? What an imaginable shock it would be for the beauties who rely a lot on their physical appearance when once they are losing it. They will be forced to deal with bits and pieces of beauty leftovers with too plenty to list ugly characters that drive people away. That is the other side of the story....=)

this is awesome avichail. you have anothe avenue to the post. i could never have thought it that way, you are just right!! your viewpoints shock me and i couldnot agree more on this. the admiration and adorations could actually spoil the beauty and the subsequent catharsis may destroy the good mind and life of the bearer. rated+++ i get that you are a beauty with brains and someone who has both cannot suffer the 'other side of the story'.

Yes Honey, I do feel that people with good looks enjoy more advantage than ordinary people. But everythime it is not the case. More than beauty what matters is the beautiful heart and beautiful mind of a peson. And last but not the least "Beautiful looks with Beautiful Heart and Mind is an ultimate combination"... Have a nice day weekend ahead..

I would just like to say that good looks attract the person for the time being and long term advantage comes by nature. for example if you have someone in your locality who is handsome or beautiful as the case may be you would surely be attracted for the time being but when you come to know that he or she is a real bluff would you then also be attracted to that person. perhaps the answer would be no. So you see it is the nature of the person which gives advantage and not the looks. Whats your opinion

yes, i agree. good looks is good for short period of time and also good for passing thru an interview of getting jobs stuff. when choosing a partner the values matter the most. what about a beautiful person with an equally beautiful mind ?? isn't it a deadly combination??

first of all let me say that I don't trust politicians very much either beautiful or ugly...the fact is I think that a lie is not becoming better or true if it comes from a nice mouth!!! LOL!! But apart from this, I can quite agree with the fact that having a nice appearance it may be of help...bearing in mind the fact that the real beauty (and the only one long lasting without any surgery help!!) comes from our soul, I think it is a sign of respect for ourselves and people we might meet in our life trying to take care of ourselves and be as pretty as we can..I mean we all can become even more beautiful than we have ever thought with the help of make up, a bit of physical exercise, nice dresses..why don't have a try? It is funny and it makes us feel good!!!

i really appreciate your viewpoint and cannot agree more on this. yes, we can, actually, work on our physical shortcomings (other than cosmetic surgery)and become more presentable and confident. and maribea, even i am not the kind who is carried away by good looks. a BIG WOW and that's it all appreciation he/ she would get. keep sharing and enriching myLot.
