Governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa has now dropped out of the race. I think this is a sign of things to come. In a year where there are no incumbents to run, I think the field will eventually dwindle itself down to the "big 2" on both sides before the primaries even really kick off. (Think McCain-Bush in 2000 as a reference to what I mean)
