I used to go to the tanning bed all the time. Now that I'm a little older I am more concerned with my skin and I don't want to do it anymore. So with summer around the corner I decided to get a spray tan that I have been hearing about so I looked it up online and called a few places. Seems it doesn't last longer than a week and cost 25 to 35 dollars. So now I am about to pull out the ol sunless tanning lotion. Those are alot better than they used to be. Any one have an opinion on any of this? Especially the spray tan cause I would like to know more about that. Thanks

I use self tanning lotion. Thay have very good one at Sephora. It doesn't smell as bad as most of them. It last for 5 days or so. Try to exfoliate first. I don't like "spray", it is awful. I felt like I have it inside my lungs and I couldn't breath for 5 minuts.

Good thing you've decided to quit solarium for the good of your skin, but be careful with lotions! You must avoid eyebrowns and ruff skin parts on your body, because those parts will go darker than they should. I suggest you to do a skin peel before.

I used to go to the tanning bed faithfully. It made my skin dry and itchy. The mystic tan is so expensive. Probably only worth it for a special occasion. My sister swears by the Jergen's Natural Glow lotion. It is supposed to give you a subtle healthy glow after continued use. I bought a tube, about 6 bucks, but can't remember to use it. It might be worth a shot.

All I know is that about a year ago a friend of mine's wife started her own business of spray tanning. Now it is doing real well as it is growing trend but hers is supposed to last for months. I still prefer the real thing, tanning beds make me chlostophobic.

no i don't prefer tanning . sun radiation can really make our skin look 10 yrs older than we aged . just go with the natural complexion that i got then just maintain it healthy to glow & protect from blemishes or sun damage with sunblock lotions & creams !

Years ago I used to use fake tan and I had to go in hospital and everyone thought I had just come back from abroad. Make sure you have had a good bath or shower first and exfoliated and used a body moisturiser first. This is because if you have dry skin like on your knees or elbows they can appear very dark. There seems to be something in them that make your skin feel lovely for days after. It is safer than sunbed or sunbathing and much cheaper than the spray tan. Give it a try, if you don't like it lots of baths and showers will take it away.

I think that tanning is another false god that we worship that causes us more harm than good.

Hm, I wouldn't agree... While "consumed" with a measure, it cannot harm, especially lotions - they are totally harmless. It is a thing women who are taking care of their appearance love to do. Sure there are women with a lack of awareness when they should stop, but I would call that disorter... Sun can be as bad as it is good for our skin and again, I'm reminding you that you should make limits for yourself, just like in everything else. I personally prefer having a nice, darker tan and clean skin, than to be all white with tons of make-up...

I use to lay outside all the time when I was younger and burn myself up. What was I thinking? Ive never tried the tanning beds. But I have tried the sunless lotions and I think they work pretty well. Im sorry but I cant remember the name of the kind I use to buy but if I come across it Ill let you know.

I like to you tanning bed. I go only once a week to the tanning bed, it cost for me $10-15 per month. I have not found a really good spray yet. Those make unnatural skinclolour. And using that is not so simple than using the tanning bed for 12 minutes per occasion. Lieing on the tanning bed for that 12 minutes is so relaxing for me. I would not exchange it to a spray, or a bodylotion. :)

Mrs. Mee goes and uses the tanning beds all of the time and on occaision I may use a tan or two just for the hell of it. Mrs. Mee swears by them as she is very fair skinned and wants to darken. Personally I do not care if I darken or not but I am naturally tanned and I do not care if she is tanned or not as she is beautiful either way but she insists on it, so she as always gets what she wants!! Mrs. Mee did the spay tan a couple of times and she said that she did not like it because it just looked uneven and did not last for very long and that is the reason she uses the tanning beds now because she did not like the spray tan. I hope this helps a little and have a great day!!

Arbonne Re9 NutriminC - These are the products I use to protect my skin and prevent the signs of aging. It's all natural, botanical and actually good for your skin
90% of the damage done to you skin is from sun and UV rays. Thats right - 90%The best thing you can do is realize that you are beautiful WITHOUT a tan, take proper care of your skin, and wear SPF protectin every day. Exposure to UV rays can caue melanoma, wrinkles, loss of elasticity in your skin and premature aging.

No, I never will. I'm worried about the side effects and the thought of being inside the bed. I really prefer sun bathing but i'm not such a tanning person myself. Kudos ~Joey

Tanning beds just make you look orange. The only way to go is a natural tan. It looks best, and it's the cheapest.

I have tried sprays, lotions, gels, etc. Being a fair skinned person the tans in a bottle tend to leave my skin looking a bit on the orangy side. I guess that I will have to be happy with my porcelain skin. There was a time when it was very fashionable. Hopefully it will come back soon!

ive never used a tanning bed, and i never will. when i was younger, i always wanted to be more tan. whenever we went to the pool or beach, i'd lay out in the sun in hopes of becoming darker. however, now i am satisfied with my color. i dont mind being white at all, and i'd actually prefer to not become tan. all i know about the sprays is that it can sometimes give you an orange color. i know my friend used it once in high school, and it made her orange!

Well, I have really pale white skin, and have never tanned (on purpose, sometimes, if I have busy summer, and don't put the sunblock on as much as I should, than I do tan), but, I prefer to always protect my skin. Especially, since we are far closer to skin cancer than we know. Also, the sun does cause wrinkles. I was born and raised in California, so, I have been around a lot of tanners, and as they get older, their skin ages very quickly, and they always seem to look like they have a fake tan. I always have people telling me that I should get a tan, but, I fear doing so, because I can barely go out in the sun without sunglasses on, how could I go out without sunblock? And, those tanning beds have ruined the skin of a lot of girls that I have gone to college with. One of them came one day with an orangish-black skin color, it was terrible...I was amazed that someone would do that to themselves. I also have friends that spray themselves, and they always appear fake-looking. I know that I am a rare person, because there are so many "tanners" out there, especially in California, but, I will never tan myself purposely, even though, I would look good for the time being, I wouldn't in the long run. That is just my opinion, I am sure it is very unpopular, but health is more important to me, than my appearance. And actually, as I said before, tanning does age people, so, I guess ultimately, both are achieved forgoing the tanning epidemic.

Also, because I have a pale face, I do use blush and I like to get the bronzer makeup...usually from clinique or victoria's secret, it is really nice, especially when it has shimmer. You can get the mosaic from VS.

I don't use any of that or tanning beds. The tanning beds seem a little dangerous and the other products just a little too expensive to keep buying. I'm quite happy being my pale self sometimes. Sorry I couldn't help you out.

I personally haven't used one since I tan very quickly anyways, but if I didn't tan quickly I would consider it. If you have a tan, your less likely to be burnt, so on the occasions when you forget sunscreen, it would be nice to have at least some natural protection in the form of a tan. I know people who think a tan is from the devil.. (ok.. slight exaggeration.. ) but if we are out together doing the same thing and we both forget sunscreen, I know who is going to be in more pain.. not me... they'll be the ones with the nice red glow, and probably have done more damage then simply maintaining a healthy minimal tan. ;)
