Have you heard your car can be unlocked by your cell phone?

I recently read a thread on myLot discussing this: If your car has a keyless entry system and you lock your keys in the car, but have spare keys at home.... you call a person at home on their cell phone, then hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door while the person at home presses the unlock button on your extra remote.. unlocks your car, waa-LA! Everyone seemed to think this was great, but no one tried it. I went to the web and looked this up. It seems to be another one of those "urband legends". The gist of the answer is that RKE systems (keyless entry) utilize different types of signals and transmit them at different frequencies, thereby making this impossible. It sure would be nice though wouldn't it?!!!

This seems interesting and once again reavels the infinite possibilities of technology.Another similar i heard in news was about a technology to switch on and switch off a water pump with just a phone call using a mobile phone. This was done in a village in india where farmers had to go out in the night to swith on or off the water pump. And they say that this technology helps them a lot. With need for new comforts technology keeps improving.....lol
