I would really like to know the question to that. I have been told by some that they don't but I have also heard others say that they do talk .I have had two parakeets for a little over two years .There are times when i could swear i heard them repeat something but wasn't sure.

I`ve never heard of any that talk but I remember years ago when I was a kid we had this record that was supposed to teach a parakeet to talk. it said the same thing over and over again like 50 times. lol.

that sounds like this little toy. It's a little plastic box you hang in the cage. It's two buttons. One for the bird to peck to hear the phrases and the other one to shut if he it starts getting on your nerves lol.It has several different phrases it keeps playing over and over.It only cost 7.95 so if it doesn't work with them I 'll just put it up til I get my cuckatoo.I don't there will be a problem getting her to talk, lol!

I've been trying to get my parakeet to speak though he is extremely stubborn.

I have some friends that have parakeets and they have told me that theirs do not talk at all. I have never had one so I could not say for sure but we could probably go to a pet store and find out if they do or not or look online to find out. :-) Maybe your parakeets do talk. That would be neat if they did.

Just like the first respondant said, "Some do; some don't." You have to expose them to repetition. I have had parakeets before that didn't talk, no matter if you've repeated yourself until you're blue in the face. However, my current 'keet, Herbie, talks up a storm! I have noticed that he won't say things he used to say, when he learns something new. For instance, he used to sing a short snippet of a song, then he also used to wolf whistle. Now that he's learned a few other things like, "you're so cute!" "I love you!" and "whatchya doin'?" he doesn't sing the song snippet on his own anymore, unless I whistle it. Then he seems to remember, and will repeat it. Just have patience. If yours is a talker, you'll soon find out! lol If not, just enjoy your bird and make sure to have plenty of toys for him/her so it won't be bored when you're not aruond to play with it.

Parakeet can talk. Mine can even follow the ringing sound of the telephone. I have a pair of parakeets, one cannot talk.
