the annoyance in discissions

does anyone else get annoyed when people dont respond to a discussion? Ok i understand if someone asks what your favcourite colour is and you tell them its blue that there aren't many further questions, but there are some quite interesting discussions which you really want to discuss but everyone else just seems to want their two cents.
I often pose an argument and don't get a reply, this annoys me and as a result i dont answer their discussions again. I ask people if they are going to start a discussion could you at least try and reply to some so some sort of interesting discussion can happen

Well people might not mean that to happen. There are so many discussions posted every day so yours might be buried under these lighthearted discussions. I have quite an amount of discussions with no responses although they are light hearted ones, I guess it's not attractive enough to make people respond. I'm not offended though, better than reading ridiculous responses or responses that have nothing to do with the topic itself, aren't they worse?

when you dont get any responds to a discussion,it means your topic is totally useless..argumentation topics not necessary are good.

thats not really true. If you look through the discussions with no responses there are some quite interesting ones in there but for some reason they have slipped the net. I'm not saying i want an argument but if someone asks a question and you give your view maybe with a follow up question it can sometimes be nice to get a reply. These are supposed to be discussions, which means a two way conversation

yeah. I would admit some of my discussions are a little too silly, I started them with an intention to earn. But, I got good responce from a few of my discussions. I actively replied to all of them. But some of them stopped discussing about that topic. I couldnt reply since 3-4 months from now, since i didnt have internet connection all this while, now that I got the connection again, no one is showing interest in a good discussion. I guess i'll have to build-up again on myLot.
LOL, Kudos for starting another sensible discussion.....

well i wont complain if you can't get on the internet, thats a reasonable excuse. It can be very hit and miss as to wether you get replys or not, i've had a lot of discussion i thought were interesting but only get 4 or 5 responses and then suddenly out of the blue one will go and get 50+ responses, very odd

That is why we have friends on mylot. I think everyone should respond to their friends discussions. I make it a point to check out my friends discussions and respond to them. That way you get atleast one or to respond. So everyone why don't we make it a priority to respond to our friends on mylot before responding to other discussions.

Hey Smugger's... yeah, this is rather annoying, especially the people who ask for help with something, you give them advice or ask for clarification, and then they don't respond. Make me think these people are simply starting topics that they know will get a response in order to make their 2 cents..,
I'm getting to the stage where I really only reply to a number of friends now, or if I can see a two way conversation happening... it's a shame its come to this, but I'm not here simply to make 2 cents per post, I want a 2 way discussion :)

i've been doing the same recently, i usually reply to people i know will actually have a discussion or i can see have been replying to others in the discussion.

I know what you mean. I started one a few days ago and only have three responses and can't believe that cause thought was a good discussion. Really upsetting I try to go to ones with no responses to make people feel better.

theres a lot of interesting discussions out there with no responses while most of the ones on the front page i find really boring, theres Irony for you. Maybe you should start a boring discussion and you will get loads of responses
