Why don't guys ever like to get directions?

Why don't guy's like getting directions to places where they don't know how to get to. For example today we where looking for a store in Kansas City and couldn't find it I told my husband to go to the gas station and get some directions but he didn't. We drove aroudn Kansas City for 3 hours before he went to gas station and asked for directions. It ended out to be we only had to go 2 blocks from where we started but becuase my husband wouldn't ask directions we drove all the way to the end of town in the wrong direction. So why is it that men are to good to ask for directions?

I would like to know the answer to this also . I have asked my husband and his answer is always the same , he always says he don't need directions as he knows where he is and that we are not lost just taking a different route and a more scenic route then the right way would be . I have seen us drive around aimlessly for hours passing by the same places trying to find where we were lol .

Yes that was my problem too he just seems like he's too good to ask for directions or he knows everything. So I have the same problem as you. LOL

Hehehe, they all have too much pride to show us that they are lost. Not a clue what the big deal is, but never met a man yet that would ask for directions.

Guys don't like getting directions because then they have to admit they're not perfect, and don't know everything.

the title of your discussion reminds me of a famous book...the title in Italian is LE DONNE VENGONO DA VENERE E GLI UOMINI VENGONO DA MARTE, that is...Women come from Venus (the planet!!) and men come from Mars (again the planet)...it is a funny reading and I strongly recommend it...it talks about common senses and all those sentences we all use to describe men's and women's characteristics and likes or dislikes...and a famous paragraph starts like this....women cannot read maps, but men never ask for directions!!!
