As already posted to setup an acct is free. For the first item it's free as Ebay are pushing to get more sellers again which is great. but yeah depending on how fancy you want to make your sale as to the price that they may charge. it's not too expensive at all.

Setting up an account is FREE! If you decide to sell eBay will charge you a listing fee for each item. This varies depending on which country you are in and which ebay site or subsite you'll be using. You have to pay a fee for just listing an item - but it varies depending on the start price! Like if you start at 99c you'll pay less fees than if it started at $1. If you decide you want to have a picture appear next to your item when buyers search for it then that is extra - although having one in your listing is free. Also if you are in the US having a reserve price is extra and you are better just starting the auction at a price you'll be happy with. eBay will also take a percentage of your sale price when the auction is sold. They'll send you an invoice at the end of the month with how much you owe them and it all itemised for you - then you can pay via cheque, credit card, paypal etc. If you don't pay they'll suspend your account and you'll be a no longer registered user. You'll just need to include the fees when working out how much you want to sell your items. Like some 99c auctions barely cover the fees! Good luck and happy selling!!

I do not believe it cost anything to sell on ebay. I do have an account there but I do not use it. I have never paid them any thing for it.
