your feelings on waiting in line? Are you a patient person or do you go nuts like me?

I am not at all a patient person, so I try to have something I can distract myself with in the event I have to wait. I have started carrying a sudoku game in my purse for that very person. A small notepad is also helpful to organize my thoughts if I get stuck with a little time on my hand. If I am stuck in line with nothing to occupy my mind then I do have the tendency to get a bit nuts too.

Same here. Carrying pad of paper to write on might help me a little. I do tend to go a little crazy while waiting.

i think it so rude that a company can put on very little staff and make us the customer wait for ages in a line then boast about how many millions of dolars they have made banks seem to be the worsest they cut so many courners at our exspence and they wonder why they get bricks thrown through there windows

I definitely think that if they are so short staffed that their lines are that long, then yes, it's time to start hiring some more people. Service will get you a long way. But I must say, I don't think it's right to take the companies lack of staffing out on the staff who have no congtrol over that. So, to everyone, please be nice to these people, they're just trying to do their job and make a living.

After 15 minutes, Im twiddling my thumbs pretty hard. 5 minutes later I'm humming the tune to the Ants go marching 1 by 1. 5 Minutes Later, if I'm still there, I start pacing the floors and think about walking out. I than Walk out. I never get much done because I am so impatient.

You're a better person than me. I'm a crazy line hopper. If I think another line is moving faster I switch. Usually it just ends up being an Office Space like experience though.

I don't have the patience I used to have, that's for sure; but I just grin and bear it if I have to.

Well, grin and bear it sounds like it has to be some kind of virtue... can't place my finger on the official name but I'm sure it's there.

depends, grocery store or whatever I can be really patient, but wal-mart I go crazy, Im ready to kill the next person who bumps me
25 Oct 06
It depends on the people in the line in front of me. If they seem they are purposely stretching their time out of being unneccessarily slow, I will lose my patience and usually say something which normally gets a cheer, but otherwise, I can stand there for hours if needed.

Oh you are so patient! Hours?! If I had to wait hours... I'd take my shopping else where.

I'm patient as long as the reason to wait is reasonable. Yesterday I was at Starbucks behind a lady who already ordered, then she pulled out this huge list of orders for other people, then had to call someone cause her order didn't look right. Grrrrr! Needless to say, I didn't have 30 minutes to wait for my coffee!

That would be frustrating. The whole point of Starbucks is supposed to be quick efficiency! They should start up a call in order option for big orders like that.

You gave this same response to another unrelated discussion of mine and if you continue to copy and paste the same answer indiscriminately I will report you to myLot. If you want to be a part of this community you must abide by the rules.

I go crazy! I really need to work on having more patience. I think that in this age where everything is instant, it is becoming harder and harder to wait for anything. Everything happens whenever we want it to. I need to slow down and wait for something! And be ok with it!

It usually doesn't bother me waiting in line, unless I'm in a real rush to get back to work or something. I figure, you can't do anything about it anyways, why get stressed out!? The only thing about lines that bother me is when the sign says 10 items or less, and the line is long, and there is miss priss getting checked out with a whole cartful! Now THAT is totally not right!

Depends if I am in a hurry or not. I try not to go in places where lines are likely if I am in a hurry, but sometimes that is not avoidable.

I have Tetris on my cell phone, I have like three others that I don't play much, I go nuts like you. My favorite song is "Move ***** Get out the Way!" seriously. I have absolutely no patience. I even take all backroads to work so I don't have to deal with stop and go traffic.
