Lead or Follow?

I can start by giving an example of what happens at my home with my husband. If I say that a room needs refurbishing he will be glad to help me out but never comes up with the idea of refurbishing the room. I often find myself thinking that most of the people I know prefer to follow. It's like nobody wants to take any responsability for decisions to be taken. The thing goes on from family to co-workers and most of the people I meet! Do you prefer to lead or follow? Personally I think it is easier to follow but somebody has to be a leader!

I am a leader and have always been one. I did not choose this, it is just how I am . I do not always agree to what others think are good ideas. If I lead it will be done my way and I can take responsibilty for it. I hate being a follower and things go wrong and I get blamed. If I am going to get blamed I want it to be from something I did not something someone else did.

Lead is the best thing. I just can trust anyone else to get the job done. SO I have to take everything by myself.. and lately people expect me to take control.. Oo'

Leadership involves dangerous politics if this is public leadership-there i would rather follow because politics is perilous game. But in my family, I enjoy leadership, it is a consultative leadership style with everybody in the family including the house mate. No unilateral decisions in my leadership style

I think men prefer to follow on house duties and prefer to lead on the choice of other major things. I agree - nobody wants to take any responsability nowadays. It's simpler to follow if the rules are worth following!

We expect the man of the house to be on top of everything. Most husbands in fact, are so arrogant they want that it will be all their decisions which shall be followed as to how the house will be run. Even the small changes that the wife plans to do, will have to be with his blessings yet. For you to have a husband with an attitude like that is a blessing. He is easy to talk with and very cooperative of the plans which you may have. He even gives you a hand if he sees it fit. You should be happy for it. The world needs good leaders. We want these leaders to lead us because we find life is getting better with them around. Be it anywhere, this will always be the case. Because the leader has wisdom, he knows when will it best to start a project, what to do in order to come with it successfully. He knows how to find the person best fit for a project or a job, many more which we find amazing. At home though, the husband and the wife take the lead. They plan together, work together in order to have a family that moves on well and good. So don't worry. I believe that you and your husband are just doing fine.
