One of the reasons why vegetarians stop to be vegetarians is that their diet become very unhealthy, full of sweets, cakes, chocolate etc which all is vegetarian which causes lack of key nutrients in our bodies. I was vegan, and after 2 years of my friend nutritionist convincing me that I need good quality protein, Omega 3 and 6, I started to eat fish and seafood.

I have been vegetarian for almost 7 years and it was very hard when you live in a big city in north of Europe where we have no fresh local veggies for about 6 months as it is cold most of the time. Everything is imported and those veggies are not the healthiest ones, as they have been packed up green, transported for weeks, then got to the supermarket and couple of days alter to my place. I perceive them just as a matter of huge amount of unknown chemicals. As I had to eat out daily due to my school, the only vegetarian option you could get in catering establishments were French fries which were probably fried in the same oil there chicken and other meets were. Another issue in society where are no vegetarian is attitude towards you from meat eaters, they simply cant understand you.

Many people grew up being taught that they need servings of food from the four food groups...meat, dairy, fruits and vegetables, and grains. They believe that vegetarians are malnourished.

I am probably one of those rare breeds who likes vegetables and fruit and things of that nature better than meat products. As a result of that I am nearly vegetarian. My guess is probably that for most people it just doesn't taste nearly as good (vegetarian diet that is).

I guess everyone has feelings and matters in this world. My sister is 5 years older than me. When I was 4 years old she told me 'that is an animal on your plate. Don't eat it!'I was horrified. With her help I became a vegetarian. A few years later my mum decided to also become a vegetarian. In my teenage years I began cutting down on cow's milk. I also started looking more in to exactly what was in different foods. On day I was very upset to see sheep bledding whilst walking along a road. I began to question wool and egg production when there are battery hens. Over the years I changed and became a vegan.

I don't understand this either. It is much kinder to be a vegetarian and also much healthier. I don't understand people who can eat meat, I can't follow their logic at all. A lot of them have pets and wouldn't eat them, so why eat other meat?
