Restaurant workers who do not wash their hands--is that a problem for you?

This new Mexican restaurant just opened up nearby and it is a very small. I would say that the bathrooms they have for the patrons are the ones they use for sure. After I had my meal I went into the bathroom to see they had a brand new soap dispenser. The way it was set you could see that it was never used and never had soap in it. The restauant was open for well over a week and they never put soap in the dispenser! Translation if you need one: The workers there have never washed their hands with soap! They touch your food. I am thinking that if they do not use soap to wash their hands, do they put on plastic gloves when they cut veggies and handle the food? Most likely not! That is scary. I see signs in other restaurants all the time that say employees must wash their hands. It is bad enough they have to remind them with a sign, but if they have to do that maybe they should also remind them to use soap. This is discusting. What is the world coming to--no common sense!

Are you sure they don't have sinks in the kitchens? Maybe that's where they wash their hands. After all they do need to wash their dishes too so there's bound to be a sink somewhere else and maybe they didn't want to occupy the bathroom too much. Just a thought.
But, yeah, I would not like the thought of resto workers not washing their hands. Yuck!

They may have washed their hands in the kitchen, but after they go to the toilet they need to wash their hands in there, too. Think of them going to the toilet, not washing their hands and then all the things that happen and that they touch and all the distractions until they get to the kitchen. It is proper to wash them in the bathroom.

Hygenic practices should ALWAYS be used, especially in food service. Did you notify them that they did not have soap available? What if a patron wants to potty while they're still eating??? I would have been furious if I noticed, after using the bathroom, and I still had food to eat!
I agree that it's totally disgusting! I have a friend that I know for a fact doesn't wash after going to the restroom. How do you approach them about it? Once, she was over for a visit and I saw that she'd used the bathroom without washing afterward... next thing you know, she was grabbing a bag of chips and eating out of the bag! I threw the rest of the bag away once she left. I don't even let my kids eat out of the bag. I tell them to get a bowl... for one, it keeps them from overeating junkfood and two, it keeps their grubby hands and often licked fingers from touching chips they may not eat.
I have encountered food preparers that were 'head scratchers' too... I will walk away and leave them hanging!
