The 2007 Scouting Combine is in the works as I write this. This is a time when all of the NFL hopefuls come together to be evaluated both physically and mentally. Some choose to workout at the Combine, others opt out of the workout. Wow! Some of these young men are impressive. The weights, strengths and talents are off the charts. Which ones do you think will be the new "Manning", "Smith" or "LT"? Who do you hope to see your team draft?

Well, I'm TiVo'ing the combine and watching it when I get chance. A lot of the big names that will be in the Top 10 are opt-ing out of the Combine for their respected Pro Days. I usually watch it for the defensive positions. Those guys are usually the most ruthless, and pure athletes. So, I think Monday is the day for those guys, and hopefully should show me something worth watching. As far as the next big star to come out of the draft...it really depends on which team picks who. The system that the team runs will have to be suited to what that player does for him to shine. Oakland has the first pick, and I would find it impossible for them not to pick Jamarcus Russell. I never really seen how big of arm that guy has until the Notre Dame game. He could turn the Raiders around pretty quick. As far as my team (Philly), I expect them to pick up a linebacker in the first round. They've been pretty thin at LB, and some of their LBs are getting a little old. And since Michael Lewis may not be coming back, I'd expect them to pick up a Safety to replace him. Also, I seen that Corey Dillon may be retiring, and possibly becoming a free agent. I would love to see Dillon in a Philly uniform! That would make their backfield one of the strongest in NFL. There's just too much to look forward to in the offseason.
