It will be 3 years this upcoming May that we have not had a landline phone in our home. I remember discussing cancelling my home phone service 3 years ago with my husband and his business partner. They had given me my own cell phone that was provided for by the company and paid the bill every month. It seemed like a logical step,I literally would not have a cell or landline phone bill at all,but somehow I initially felt uncomfortable witout a landline phone at the house. Obviously 3 years later I have made the transition just fine and am content with my "free" cell phone. So now my husband and I both have cell phones and no longer give our nonexistent landline phone a second thought. Well that is until I can't find my cellphone in the morning!! What about you? Do you still have a landline phone at home? Do you have both a cell and landline phone?

Yes, we still have a landline phone. We live a little far out in the country so the connection is pretty weak on the cell (phases in and out) unless we go out within a few miles distance.

Yes, we still have our landline (home) phone. Hubby has his cell for when he is working, and he uses it primarily for business purposes. I stay home much of the time, so it really doesn't bother me that we have a landline. In fact I think sometimes it is more reliable. At least I don't have to worry about the time, when making a call to someone. There probably will become a time when landlines are obsolete, but I hope it doesn't happen for a while.

We still have a landline. I like at home with my grandparents and they don't use their cellphone too much so a landline is the easiest thing for us to have. Secondly, it's the easiest way for everyone to get ahold of us. I know that canceling the service would be much better for us in the end because we'd get rid of a lot of pointless annoying telemarketer phonecalls, but it's needed in our home.

I have been working for a "Landline Compnay" for over thirty years now. I have both. However, I find my landline to be more reliable than the the cell phone. Many times the company has called me out, via my landline, because a cell tower was down and I didn't have service. It is my job to get the tower up and working. On the other hand, when I am working, I find the cell phone to be a great tool. I have yet to send or receive a fax over my cell phone. I don't think my alarm would work over the cell phone either. It is possible, but noe for me.

Yes we do. I don't like the idea of not having a landline in case of an emergency they're easier to track than a cell. As a mom to young kids I think it would be a mistake for us to be without this. When we were first married we did away with the landline for a time, but since living in our house we've had both a cell and a landline.

I accept that mobiles are going at great rate but homes are as well growing at phenomenal rate... and you always have people at home ... so the best way to have a contact is having a landline at home rather than having a mobile for every person. I personally have a landline at home and mobile as well. My mom is usually at home and so we keep in touch with her by calling her over landline.

I haven't had a landline in over a year. I feel there is really no need for it. We all have cell phones under one plan and it's just an added cost to have a landline that nobody is ever going to use. I fax from my computer so that eliminated the last of the use for the landline for me. My mom still has one but she is old fashion. She just got a cell phone and is learning how to use it.

After everyone in our family got cell phones, we stopped using our home phone. We only had our line on to use it for our internet connection because we had dial up. Then we got cable modem for our internet, so we just turned off our home phone line.

I have had a cell phone for 10 years. I still have a landline and I refuse to give it up - it is my preferred method of contact. The wireless phones are great - but bring about a host of health issues for the microwave radiation frequency waves. Better off using minimally. I can only imagine the increase of brain tumors in the coming years from wireless phones and wireless internet.

Absolutely, it's actually our ONLY phone. My husband and I don't see the point of having a cell phone. We had a pay as you go one while I was pregnant and we never used all of our minutes, and it was 300 in a 3 month period and we had to buy more minutes before the end of 3 months so that we wouldn't lose our phone number. So you get the picture. We don't even talk on our home phone that often.

Yes, we still have a landline phone. Each of us (my husband, my mom and I) has 2 cell phones. I've got many friends who do not need their landline phones any more.

we still have a phone telephone which my wife uses to call other landlines for the 59 minutes.... but we have a package on our mobiles so we can call each other and 3 other friends for only a £5 a month on top of our mobile bill. so we are saving both ways with the phones.

Yes, we have a landline and a cell phone. We were thinking the other day about why we even have one, since we hardly use it. I usually carry the cell phone with me but often can't hear it ringing when its in my bag LOL i use it for emergencies (which is hardly ever) and when i need to call a cab when i'm out and about. Other than that, i hardly use either of them.

i am going without a landline phone for over a year now. it is very convenient to carry a mobile, and u dont haev to bother about paying bills every month. i plan to keep it this way even if i have to buy another mobile for the family in some time. i always prefer a mobile to a landline.

Yes we have the landline. We never really use it. We got it mainly to get the broadband through it as we had wireless broadband with another company and it just kept cutting out all the time, so thought it better to get it through the phone line.

We have disconnected our landline phone and so we only use our cell phones. I was sick of all the telemarkers calling and not getting the hint. Plus something was wrong with our phone that we couldn't call out and people couldn't call in. So i was just sick of it all and cancelled it.
