Babies at that age are learning how things work. In addition to the usual toys, you might try to teach her baby sign language. It's really cute when they want something and they sign Please, or say Thank You when someone gives them something.

Well look here buddy she is just nine months old not nine years old that you become worried like a father whos got ten daughter and none willing to get married, what i mean is she is a tiny tot and let her remain that , this period is never gonna come back, if your parents told you to shake hands early in life tht doent mean you teach guggu also shake hands , when her hands are small as a matchbox, now wait for ten more years and the way its going you get a guy everyday at your doorsteps ready to shake hands with her.

i think you want to much! she will learn fast enough! i have a nine months old daughter too! she goes in her babywalker like a speeding car! i know that on one day they try to imitate everything you do, so i know that shaking hands will come! i try to teach my oldest one to say thank you when she gets something, but still no reaction and she is 2,5 years old! but if you see what she already knows and can do, you would be happy with it too! you find out soon enough what she is capable off!

At nine months a baby is learning through all their senses and tearing up newspaper and putting things in their mouth are very normal. My advise is to talk to her and interact by following her responses. I have been studying language in children and 1 in 10 now have language difficulties. So give her the best start in life and talk away to her. Anyway enjoy this period because once they start walking you will be on the go all day and will be putting lots of your things on high shelves!!LOL I remember it well. All my video cases were chewed, toys were thrown everywhere and the cats used to hide until they went to bed. However, its great fun and goes so fast. My kids are 13 and 17 now and it only seems like yesterday I was melting at they sight of their cute smiles. I wish you happiness.
