WORLD series Baseball?

Why on earth does the USA have a World Series Baseball league when only the Americans play on it. This is like having a World Aussie Rules Football competition, where only the ausies are mad enough to play it. Dont get me wrong I am not knocking Aussie rules, i love the sport but Baseball is as exciting as watching paint dry.
