Do you know how much you spend on your gardening hobby?

I am spending today organizing my paper work. I found several receipts to my local gardening store. I notice on a couple of visits I spend over $35.00. This is what I purchase stepping stones, mulch, azalea, top soil etc. Have you ever looked at how much you spend? I usually go to the garden center with the intention of spending $15.00 to $20.00, but I always spend more. How much do you spend in one visit?

I always spend more than I intend to, too, and have spent upwards of a hundred dollars, but not every year. Last year I spent a lot throughout the season, but I was just getting some areas started and it took a lot of topsoil and bricks, etc. This year I don't intend to spend more than $10 - $15 for everything, since I have most of the seed I need and will only buy a few plants. But I might buy a bush to fill in an empty spot. Then I might buy a piece of trellis to cover the south end of the patio... And so it goes. :)

I over spend to. I am going to limit myself to $65.00 this year. I am thinking about purchasing a couple of Knock Out Roses, and they are bit pricey plus mulch, top soil etc.

I spend and bought gardening supplies thoughout the spring and summer months. I have spent over $100 on top soil annuals, bulbs and seeds and many size flower pots last year. This year I'v collected seeds from some plants and have alot of left over gardening supplies to get started at it again. So hopefully I won't spend as much.

It's not so much how much I spent in one visit, but multiple visits are what gets me into trouble, lol. I like shopping when all the plants are on sale at the end of spring. Some of them might not be in the best shape, but if they are a perennial it doesn't matter. This year I've decided that inside of many plants and taking mediocre care of them, I'm going to buy just a few really nice ones and really take good care of them so they are showpieces.
