i'm not exactly a cat lover, but this incident so touched me. i saw a cat, picking up a newly-bought food. i went after her, but stopped when i saw that she brought the food to her children. it made me realize that animals do have maternal instincts, and if they do, how much more we, human beings?

People are always amazed at nature. Nature is very logical. That's the reason kittens (and puppies) should stay with the parents until they have learned to be a cat or dog. It's only logical. People have a nasty habit of taking kittens from the mother at six weeks, and then wonder why they have a disfuntional cat. The same goes for dogs. How many time have you heard people complaining about their pet's accidents. If they had left the animal with its parents longer, that kitten or puppy would have come toilet trained. Cat and dog mothers do that for you, if they get the chance. Maternal instincts are a wonderful thing. Mother nature is a wonderful thing. It would be a wonderful thing if humans woould learn to observe and listen to nature. A mother cat will eat an unperfect kitten at birth. She instinctively knows that kitten would not make in the wild.
