how can you train your cat to walk on a leash?

I did have a cat that I use to be able to walk on a leash. I started training her when she was just a kitten. I would just put the collar on her and the leash and let her get use to it (sometimes she was no so accepting of it!) but eventually she started to like it. And eventually we eased her on walking outside with the leash. It takes time and patients. And some cats (like the cat I currently have) HATE them and just won't do it.

Believe it or not I have seen this but only a few times. I know through the years I have tryed to get some of my cats to walk on leashes but they hated them. I dont understand why a dog is so excepting of a leash but 9 times out of 10 you would never be able to get a cat on a leash. Its a weird thing!lol
