Bollywood???

Okay.. maybe I'm going to look like a total idiot here but what in the world is Bollywood?? or is it a where??The first couple times I saw it in a post I just assumed (yeah.. I know... it makes an a$$ out of u and me) that people were just spelling hollywood wrong, but I've seen in quite a few posts now and realize that I've missed something somewhere. I was hoping to figure it out from the posts but I admit.. I'm lost people..

Bollywood is in India. It is the Hollywood of India, the entertainment/movie center of India. So when people mention Bollywood, they are talking about India's movie industry.

Actually it is the hindi movies that they are talking about. Its based in Bombay

I wonder why everyone gravitates to Hollywood. Even people famous in the Bollywood community want to migrate and "make it" to Hollywood. I'd be satisfied with being popular in my own homeland. I'm a simple person. I don't have to go global. : )

Don't woory thats what we are here for to care and share. Bollywood is indian version of hollwood.(Just to make things simple).Whatever movies are produced in mumbai(Bombay) are called bollywood.And to your surprise We in India have lots of woods as kollywood(tamil nadu),tollywood(andhra)and lots more..Hope now you feel at home.Feel free to ask anything.
