Just not that interested in school anymore

Lately, I've found myself down to the wire when it comes to my schooling. I study minutes before the test and always do my assignment the night before it's due. It's not that I need to get organized... it's just I am not that interested anymore. I even made a 58 on my first PSY exam of the semester. Everyone did badly--average o 69 I think--but still. I am not that kind of student, ever. Now all I want to do is shop, talk, and be with my fiancee, fartin' around. I am scared because college is it for me; I know I won't be satisfied with life if I don't do well and don't end up with a job I like. I'll be the first in the family to actually graduate if I make it that far. I also don't want to struggle in life, and I want to provide for my family. College is a big thing to me but I'm having a terrible time right now.

it is a phase that everyone goes through not only in schooling but the whole adult life also.when i was in school so many years back, i thougth schooling was tough and so boring.same as you it got to a point where i just want to give up and drop everything off because i feel i would be happier making money instead of wasting my time in school but after so many years i realized that what i was going through then is the same.i dropped off of college and somehow looked backed that if i have been a better student i would not be experiencing so much slack today.you only have a few more years, be a trooper and finish the course, that is what is all about finishing what you have started is spite of all the hurdles. it is just like sports, what matters is how you play the game , it is not the winning.

You're too young to have a fiance, that's the trouble, get serious about life and give the boyfriend the miss. I tell it like it is. You have the right ideas about things, now get real and put them into practice, it is hard work but you sound quite bright except about boys. Maybe, you need more solid parenting from your parents. Without that you'll have to rely on you.

My mom tried, but what can she do when I don't live with her anymore? My dad already made his mark. He let me be molested by my brother in law and didn't lay a finger on him. So, tell me what parents I should go to?

you have to stay focused on school....I took a "leave of absence" and ended up quitting after two years at a really good school, all because of my boyfriend who is now my ex-husband....stay in school and do the best you can, and don't get brainwashed by a man!

I completely understand. I've been having trouble keeping up with my studies this semester...I just can't coerce myself to actually pick up a textbook and read it, or do my homework. I really, really want to succeed, so why the heck am I slacking off so much? I'm usually a straight A student! I think I've figured out that part of my problem is, I simply have a lot to do. I work almost full time, go to school full time, and have a boyfriend who needs my attention- I also have to shop, cook, and do my laundry. So when I finally get a little bit of free time, I don't want to waste it on more work! I want to do something I like, or just relax. If I kept up on my homework like I should, I probably wouldn't do anything enjoyable for the next 4 months. So maybe you're just too busy?

I think everyone specially after studying for a long time goes thru this phase. If you haven't graduated yet, I think you should motivate yourself. Rethink your goals, why did you go to college? What are your goals? Then maybe you can have the desire to go to school again
