Where do you study?

Where do you study in your house? Do you just plonk yourself anywhere? Are there lots of distractions around you? Or do you try to limit these? Do you have a designated desk that you always use? Do you study in the same room as where your family does? Does this have advantages? In what sort of ways (if so)?

library - a library is a quiet place to study
Back in college whenever I study in my room either I get distracted by other stuff or I get sleepy, so for me it's better to study inside the library. When I go back to school this year I'll be spending some time in the library to study before going home.

Two possibilities here: my room or the university's library. It depends on the day, of what i have to do etc. The library has the advantage that people study there so it kind of forces you to study as well. Being at home has the advantage that it's quieter and nobody disturbs you, but on the other hand it's easier to fall into temptation of tv etc.

I usually study at home. I study with classical music playing while I'm reading. I find that I can study and focus with classical playing. It calms my mind a little I think. I do need absolute silence though if I don't have music otherwise I can't focus.

I usually study in my bed, facing the wall, so as not to be distracted by what's going on around me. And I usually study late in the night, when everybody else is asleep, because I hate being disturbed when I'm concentrating on my studies. If I know that I won't be able to study at home, I just go to a quiet place, either in the library or someplace where I'm not likely to be disturbed.

I prefer to study sitting on a table in a corner everyday.

Very poorly if I'm sitting in front of my laptop! I find the best place to study is the library, or at my desk. At home, I only study at my desk. Meaning no crafting, no surfing the internet, no eating, nothing but study at the desk. The laptop is reserved for play. Else I get so lazy, I end up procrastinating instead of studying!

I study in my office, in my bedroom, or outside, in my yard, or my favorite areas in the marsh or the woods. I have to search for either the quietest area, or blare my music to drown out the family distractions... TV, Fighting, Debating... Annoying eachother... bugging me.. It's amazing I could ever study at all. I remember I would try all evening long, then get into trouble for staying up till midnight for doing my homework cause I could not get it done.. with my noisy disrespectful sisters... sighs.. No Study room.. I would use the kitchen table or dining room table.. but there was hardly any ways at all to ever limit or get rid of the distractions... without leaving the house so I often studied on the sidewalk or put on play clothes and sat in the mud in the woods, and studied on the hill... And kept moving every few minutes to keep the horses from grabbing my papers.. or to chase my homework before it blew into the marsh... Often it was said it looked like I sent my papers through the laundry.. Nah they just got weatherwised a little by the wind and rain some days. - DNatureofDTrain

I sit in my office at the computer desk to read/study. Sometimes I'll go into my basement at the wifes desk or the extra bedroom to read a book if there are too many interuptions around me. Seems you're in the what are you phase today. LOL. But's that's a cool topic here. Thanks for this topic also.

When I read, I'd like plonk myself in the bed for those free reading, or sit by designated desk when I need to do some writing while reading. Most time I sit in front of the computer to look through the internet page. I have a study for my computer for lest do not break in on others' rest.I like working at night, sometimes I stay up till midnight, so I should take my family's rest into considration.

I study in my bedroom, at my desk or laying down in my bed at night. Fortunately I don't have to share my bedroom with anyone else right now, because I like my privacy, and I love to study.
