I am tired of seeing ads on TV for PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES

This just drives me crazy. I am old enough to remember when your doctor knew what was best for you. Or even made house calls. It drives me nuts to see ads on TV telling us to "ask your doctor if this medicine is right for you". Didnt my doctor go thru all that schooling so that he would know what medicine is best for my condition without me telling him what medicine I "want". I get that they want us to know what is available now, but come on. Shouldnt my doctor know w/o me telling him, what is best for me?

That bothers me as well. Half the time i dont even know what the perscription does, and yet ask your doctor if its for you. My doctor knows my medical history and she knows what medications i should be taking, if any.
