I run a staffing agency and I have so many people telling me they want to work... but when I find them one.... the excuses would make you laugh! I actually found a guy a position that paid over 13.00 an hour. In our area, thats REALLY good pay! He turned it down because he said he promised his wife he would do the laundry for her that day!!!!!! Can you beleive it?

I believe it. I once bought McDonald gift certificate to give out to panhandlers with the signs "Will work for food". It probably won't surprise you to know I got sworn at a lot giving them out.

its hard to believe someone could so dumb to give such a lame excuse. i can understand how it feels when you have worked so hard to find a job and the person simply does not want it for some silly reason. either they are plain lazy or too afraid to try a new place to work at.

I think some people have such a strong fear of failure that they're afraid to try anything. I kind of feel sorry for them. Okay, maybe I wouldn't feel sorry for someone if I found him a nice job and he turned it down for no good reason.

No they dont but they have to make it look like they are looking for one so that there unemployment wont be cut off!
