Happy to be Overweight

I just saw a weight chart. It shows how a persons weight compared to their height determines if you are a healthy weight, are overweight or are obese. The bad news is that I'm in the obese catagory. The good news is that I'm only 7 pounds from being in the overweight catagory. I've lost fifty one pounds to get there! I told my husband that I never thought I'd be glad to be called overweight!! About thirty eight more pounds and I'll be normal weight. WOHOO!!! The pamphlet came from Walmart. They were handing them out as a promotion for heart month, I think. Happy dieting!!

Congratulations! It makes me feel better to know that there are people out there who are actually trying to do something about their weight instead of just sitting around talking about how they should lose it. I hope everything goes great for you!

Thank you. I got tired of hearing me complain about it, too! The best part is that as I learn to cook healthier, my hubby has lost over 40 pounds, too. I try to teach my kids why we are eating differently, so they won't struggle when they are adults. None of them are overweight now, thankfully. Maybe I'm breakin' the cycle!!

Congratulations I Know how hard it is to lose a lot of weight, I don't think I've lost any "weight", but I know I've put on some muscle because I've been going to the gym 3 to 5 times a week doing a 30 min. cardio and 45 min weight lifting. Good luck with the rest.

Wow, you are more motivated to exercise than I am. I mostly get mine from playing with the kids at home and at church. I go more for the nutrition side of dieting. Whole grains, that sort of thing. My friend joined the army right out of high school and she did the same as you. She actually gained a few pounds, but she lost inches. Muscle weighs more than fat.
