What do you do with old magazines that you already read them and dont think that you will go back and read those again? Do you just throw it all away or do something else with it?

Every week I buy In Touch magazine wich is a celebrity magazine. After I'm done I bring it to my friend at my job and then she leave it on the table there. Everyone can read it. So they are never more then one week in my house lol

I wish we had someplace around here I could take them to be recycled, but we don't. I try to give them away to someone else that may be interested in them. Other times I use the pages to start a fire in our fireplace. Last choice is to just throw them away, but I do that too.

I made a huge pond in my backyard (about 250 m²) and after I dug out the earth and dirt I have put a 5 cm thick layer of old magazines and papers on the surface, just before putting the rubber foil in the pond. It prevents stones and roots pointing through the rubber so the water stays in the pond, and it is soft enough not to harm the rubber, and it's cheaper than sand. That way I got rid of 3 yearloads of newspapers, magazines and other papers, and put it to good use ! The rest I've just burned in my fireplace...

There are actually several things that can be very useful to do with old magazines. The first is to bundle them up and take them to the local nursing home(s). The folks there really appreciate being able to read them, and most can't afford to go out and buy them or subscribe to them. Another one to try is to see if your doctors office or local hospital will take them for patients to read. I always cut off the address label before I donate them. If nothing else, don't throw them away, take them to your local recycling center to be recycled and cut down on waste products. Good topic.

you may sell them or cut the stuff that you want to save for clippings. you may recycle them as your cover for notebooks and the like.

I just throw them away. I really should recycle them, but I don't. I have been meaning to start recycling though.

When I've noticed that I kept a magazine for more than a year, I take out some time to look through the whole magazine and cut out pictures and articles I like. Then I glue it into a scrapbook so I can keep them but yet throw away the rest so that I don't have this huge bookcase of magazines. Saves a lot of space!

I save old magazines for my collages. I use them in my paintings, or just collages in general. I also like to use them for working with children in creating collages. When the magazines are cut up beyond recognition, I put the cores in the recycle bin.

I pass them on to my sons' school. They are always doing focus projects and can either use the articles themselves for research material or cut out the images to paste into their projects. It really helps the kids who don't have broadband at home or printers at home or who might not be allowed to use up the colored ink.

A lot of times, I cut out pictures or headlines or articles that I like. Sometimes I put those on my wall, or just hang on to them to possibly use in a journal or collage or something. Besides that, though, I just recycle them. I know a lot of people sell them online, but I don't see how that can really be very profitable.

What I do is to give it away to the Paper Seller, who visits my house every once in a while and take away all the waste papers in my house. He pays me some good money for that too. ALso you can use the old magazine papers for some household purposes such as cleaning etc., too.

If I know I won't go back and re-read the magazines I will then usually just throw them into the recycling bin. I have to tie or rubberband them together before they go into my recycling bin, which I do. I don't sell them or pass them on usually.

I pass them on to people I kow who would like them, or give them to a charity place. Doctors offices, dentist might like them.
