Just any and everything u can tell me about it to put my mind at ease because i don't do pain very well. I already have 2 children age 5 and 3.Thank you for your knowledge.

Have not had it done but I'm seriously thinking about it. If that's something you think you need done to make you feel more comfortable with your self and make you happy then go for it!

My tubal was a part of my second C-section so I can't really say how the recovery was because it was just part of the C-section recovery. It has been effective for 18 years. Even though it involved the delivery as well, I have to say the pain level of the recovery was no big deal. No worse than bad cramps. I never took anything stronger than a Motrin.

I had it done after my 3rd child. The sad thing was I had no stitches during this delivery because she came so fast there was no time for a doctor to come and yet I ended up with stitches because of the tubal ligation. Myself I needed to do it because I had had premature labor on my 2nd child so was in bed for 5 months and 3rd was in bed 6 months. I knew I wouldn't be able to carry another child. The surgery was pretty much like any other. They put you under and do the surgery and you wake up with the surgery completed. I was sore like I would be with any surgery. I was able though to carry the baby around but you have to be careful lifting your other children. I can tell you if you have to go in to have it done not after the birth of a child you may want to check with your insurance to make sure they will pay for it. It would mean a hospital stay. A lot of times they will put you on the same floor with mom's that have delivered babies. I guess I would look more at the mental aspect of why you are doing it. Are you sure you are ready to no longer have children? If you are married would it be better to have your husband take care of the problem in the doctor's office? Keep in mind they not only tie your tubes but burn the ends as well so that there is no chance of you getting pregnant again. Please make sure this is really what you want before jumping into it. Best of luck.
