I have never tried diet pills and I don't plan to either. My mother had to have all of her teeth pulled recently, and coudln't eat for a few days. She ended up losing about 10 pounds!!

Hi, Not eating for days does elicit a rapid weight loss effect but most of the losses may be more muscle and water weight than adipose tissue. No doubt that I congratulate her weight loss at such a short span of time. I do suggest that she begins to ingest foods that are high in protein and fibre to replenish her lost nutrients. Liquid diets like soy milk and organic rice milk can help alot and they are usually devoid of preservatives and additives. Good luck to your mom's regain in health and wellbeing. Thank you

Hi, with regards to ur discussion I might have some expereinces to share. Personally I have tried triacana and hot rox from Biotest. I would say the results are visible and I do get an energy lift. I take only the recommended dosage and I dun overdose them. triacana and Hotrox can give you major jitters and anxiety attack if you are prone to stress and depression. However I have not undergone any serious side effects so far. A person I read about in the newspapers took Xenical to burn the fatty tissue in her body. The fats were depleted all right, but the problem is the oil just leaked out of her "you know where" from her behind while she was having dinner with her boyfriend. It was sad to see such things happen. But I believe if one follows the instructions of the doctor closely and not overdose them, seeking the doctors observation regularly, they should be fine. My humble sharing. Thank You.

Most pills are a waste of time and the few that do work are just a quick fix. As soon as you go off of them you will gain your weight back so the best way to lose weight is to do it the right way..the healthy way with better eating habits and exercise!

Yes I have tried many different kinds, none work so well. It is best to eat healthy, exercise and drink lots of water. This is much better than throwing your money away on pills that do not work.

Yes, they can be VERY dangerous!!!! The ONLY way to lose fat (not just water weight and muscle) is by eating healthy and exercise. When you get any of those pills home, they will even suggest eating well and exercise. The only one that I would say is MAYBE safe is Xenical (it recently has become available OTC but I'm not sure what the name is now). I had tried that for a little bit but couldn't stand it! There are side effects.. one of those is not having good control over your bowels and also you can get orange greasy fat leaking out your bum. I'm not kidding, it's nasty! If you make some small changes to your diet, eat the proper calories and even do a minimal amount of exercise you will lose weight and be able to keep it off! Good Luck!

I do agree with you on the part that Xenical does give some nasty after effects. Over the years we have read in the papers about people who use Xenical, lost weight, got so happy, went on a date and then bam! The leaky incident. I think some preventive measures have to be taken. Maybe some tampon or something for ladies and extra padding for mens underwear if they are male users. Don't know how it gets done, but one can't always live in the fear of a leaky bum. Thanks

I have tried Mega-T Green Tea (don't know the exact name) and another that also had green tea extract in it, and I did not see any noticeable effect but then again I did not follow instructions at all exactly and took them in smaller-than-instructed doses at a time.
