I dont make a habit of getting a job and then quitting. actually this is the first job that i have had that was the shortest employment. (3 months) when you quit a place of employment do you give a notice and how much of a notice do you give? my old job called me back and offered me more money and I couldnt refuse so when I went in this morning I tried talking to my boss(who has already been rude to me) and told her that sun would be my last day. She said thanks for the notice. well I dont work everyday . i would work sat and sun and then not work again till thurs then monday again . i thinhk i gave her ample time. what do you think?

I would attempt to give 2 weeks notice but if I couldn't I would give less notice and not even worry about it because no employer gives the employee the same amount of notice when they have to let someone go, whether it is on good terms or bad termsm they don't do the same.

I think 2 weeks notice is more than sufficient... it depends on the employer and employee to the greatest extent of what kinda rapport do they have working together... I always try to find a better job then the current ... only then do i quit the job,,, i dont like to finish bad or return to the same employer ever

Yes , I would feel you are giving them enough time . She is probably just ticked that they have to start looking for someone else and they probably liked the job you were doing so try to take this as a compliment . You are going on to something else and you have to look out for your best intersts so try not to stress out to much over it , you did give them warning , most people would have just quit on them and not have given them any time to find a replacement .

The standard is two weeks notice. It shows respect for who you work for and gives you a better chance at a getting a good recommendation down the road when you may need one.

I haven't quited a job since the first time I joined the work world. I have been with the company I am working at now for almost year years. But in the event I might decide to resign for whatever reasons it may be, well I guess a 30-days notice is the best way. It is somehow helpful to maintain the kind of relationship you had with your supervisors or managers even if you wanted to walk out the door. For me it's not so good that when you leave a company, some people are having bad feelings towards you and you would be the subject of the talk. And who knows, you would get to see them somewhere in the near future. And another thing, most of the companies nowadays are asking recommendation letters or certificate of employment from your job prior to your employment, so what would you give if you are not in good terms with your superiors when you left the office? do you think they'd be glad to recommend you? well, these are just my thoughts though... Godbless...
