muslims say 'ASSALAM O ALAIKUM' to greet someone, HOW others greet

muslims regardless of their country greet in this way. Meaning of that word is "may peace be upon you". How u greet. and specific WORD in urs language?

And, I say. HI or hello, or good morning. I also say, What's happening, or Hey. I say, Good morning dear to my husband. I say Good evening to my boss. I say oooohhhh, MY babies to my dogs, and when I call my best friend, I say...Hey, Wonnie, whats up. That is it.
