Is there a song that especially moves you to weeping?

This time of year (Lenten Season) we become quite prone to tears of penance. Is there any particular song that helps your heart feel the compunction of your sins? Oh my yes there is. There are several. Since I was small for some reason "Danny Boy" has brought me to tears. I am not Irish, I have lost no one to war that is close to me, I have no idea what it is about that song but I love it love it love it. I play it often, I have so many different renditions of it. The other special one is one called "Because you loved me" By Celine Dion. It reminds me of my best friend that past about 10 yrs ago. She was such a guiding light in my life and she loved me for me. She and her husband were the best!!!! she was an example of all things are possible if you believe in your self and believe in a higher power to help you get there.

oh, I so agree about Danny Boy. A treasure it is, the love of Father and Son - as well as faith.... "Pray an Ave there for me" I play the violin and it is one of my favorites to play. We had neighbors that were Irish Balladeers and that was one of my two top requested songs for them to perform.

Most Christian songs would bring me into tears. I don't know why. It's maybe because I'm being moved with the power of the Holy Spirit through these songs. And the song that would really move me to weep, is the song that I have written for Jesus. It's entitled "Simple Song". I was able to write that song because I joined a Bible Songwriting contest. ANd I was really moved by the Scriptures on the story of the prodigal Son. Everytime I sing this song and play the CD on, it will always melt my heart.
My favorite line here is: "Show me the light so I can see you Lord. Lead me out of the darkness. I know I'm not worthy, but still you love me endlessly. Oh how can I repay you Lord for all the good things that you've done for me..."
This song had won 1st prize during the contest, but I am proud to say that even if I wrote this song, this isn't my song, this is God's song and He only used me as His instrument.

well there are few songs which make me cry and after near break up with my gf these songs make me cry more.
