I heard on our local news today that a man bought a truck load of tumbleweeds on ebay for $600.00 He is going to put them around his house for decorations. Would you spend $600.00 on tumbleweeds? And would you put them around your house as decorations?

Seems reasonable though not sure 600 dollars is really worth it. I guess it was to him. Myself I would love to buy some kudzu. In my northern climate I would keep it contained and harvest seed since it would die in our winters. I have a good handful of uses for it however i have been unable to get some. Maybe some day!!

If you planted some kudzu..it wouldn't be long before everybody had it..it is impossible to get rid of...Take a look at Alabama..whole state is covered with it...Under ideal conditions it can grow 60 feet a year...it thinks nothing of growing a foot a day in summer months..7 million acres covered in the Deep South with this horrible plant...you better think this thing through, lest you get run out of your town on a kudzu covered train...

There are stranger ways to spend money I guess. I wouldn't want to buy tumbleweeds. I guess it ranks right up there with displaying a bale of hay or straw in the autumn months.

He must be some sort of an eccentric millionaire. I couldn't see myself paying that kind of money for tumbleweeds. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even accept the tumbleweeds for free. I have enough to do around my garden without adding to the work. I would love to see a picture of his garden after he is finished decorating it.

No, I wouldn't. First, I wouldn't use them for decorations. Second, if I did have some "need" for tumbleweeds, I'd just go out and get them for free! They grow wild around here!

I think that is really dumb. I would never spend any kind of money on tumbleweeds especially $600. No I wouldn't put them around my house for decorations. They'll just blow away. Totally not worth it.

No, they would have to pay me the $600 to take it and then I would go dump it. There is plenty of it rolling around for free out in West Texas. There is always a possiblity of it getting hung up in you vehicle when you are driving down the highways there. This can do damage to your vehicle. I surely wouldn't want it to decorate with. I would be afraid that it would plant itself and reproduce. I guess it takes all kinds to make a world and one man's trash is another man's treasure.
