I have listened to a police scanner for over 15 years of my life whe i was younger I heard my dads scanner he had and then when I was about 20 I bought my own and have I dont go a day with out it. it is on even when i sleep I hear police ambulance, fire and rescue. I enjoy listening to it although it can be frightening at time listening to high speed chases. do you have a scanner how often do you listen to it.

I have to ask what is the fascination with crime and accident scenes? I'm not implying that you do it but I am constantly encountering scanner-heads on scenes and I find it a lot sick that people actually leave their homes so that they can witness human suffering first hand. Why does seeing people at the lowest point in their lives attract people?

I do understand what you mean about scanner junkies. I dont know why i continue to listen. when i was younger it was because we had no choice but when i got older and got one of my own mainly to listen to when my x worked but then it was just because i really enjoyed listening to it. I have many friends in law enforcement and listen to them as well. thanks for responding

That'd be cool to use. The problem is a lot of organizations like cops, air force, and other groups are using broad-spectrum broadcasting, and without a key, it's pointless to even try.

I don't have a scanner. My dad used to have one though and I thought it was neat to listen to it. It would get addicting though cause I'd want to sit there and listen to everything that was happening.

I have many uniden scanning radios, and generally, here is how to do it. a[ take your wanted frequency.- the one you want to enter b]hit the program key c] enter the frequency care fully, then hit enter. Different uniden models, work differently, but are about the same. after you get them all in, hit scan. each time the program key is pressed, the channel ought to automatically jump to the next empty channel to be programed. If it starts bugging you again, walk away, take a break, clean your mind, and analyze tour troubles., then go back to it

I don't have a scanner anymore, but they are addicting. My brother is a cop, so he got me hooked on them.
