Am I making the right move?

I was so confused on what to do to be able to help my son, so I finally talked to a lawyer yesterday to file a case to my ex-husband for full support to my one and only son... Although, I have already talked to my ex-husband about supporting his son, yet he is not complying to what we have agreed upon... to give him quality education (but he fails to pay tuition fees that's why my son missed his quarterly exams)... to stand by him in case of problems in school, health, peers or anything personal (but he is always out of reach... and when my son approaches him he always tells my son that he is busy). So, please tell me, am I making the right decision to consult a lawyer regarding this matter?

Of course you are, it's not just your son and your ex honeslty can't expect you to cope without any support. And it may help your son when he is older knowing that his father at least supported him in some way even if he isn't around.
