Adults wear helmets but not the children riding with them. Selfish or lazy?

In some part of the rural countries, we can see only the adults that wore helmets but not the children who's riding with them. I think that is rather dangerous and selfish of them. I know it's costly for them to buy helmets for the kids but isn't life is worth a lot more? What do you think?

I think it's because hard to find the suitable one for the children :) if they still wear the big one it just distract the rider...If this become an issue, it's not either selfish or lazy, it's about parents awareness.

I still think that to ride on a motorcycle without a helmet is most dangerous (actually, even if it is emergencies, but there is forgiven let's say going to the hospital). Ermm..hard to find, maybe..

Whatever the reason is, I hope their reasons are worth the risk.

Here in Canada anyone under 18 must wear a helmet while riding bicycles. All motor cyclists must wear helmets. I still see children riding bikes without helmets because this law isn't enforced often enough. Take care Hh9905.

In Thailand you see four on a motorbike, and only one wearing a helmet. It's not selfishness, it's stupidity.

Sometimes, it came across my mind that they may not have enough money to do so. Maybe they just can't afford to buy helmets for kids because kids grow up fast. Maybe they think it's a waste of money since they are poor. The money can be used to buy food. I mean, they are staying in rural areas. Besides, there may not be so many cars at rural areas. Therefore, they think it's not as important to wear the helmets.

Helmets are very important element when ur riding a motorcycle especially with kids infront of you. I seldom ride motorcycle, but I always see parent and toddlers without helmets. That's very dangerous. I think they should think about their kids life and also avoiding accident happen and injured badly. Hope these kind of parent beware of this matter. I'd really think that parent should be warned or summon if they didnt wear helmet for their children. :)

I always make my kids wear their cycle helmets. I think it should be the law as some people are too stupid to realise the risks involved if they don't wear them.

it is definately worth it to get the helmets, it doesnt matter the cost, the life of your child should be worth more than any cost for a helmet or any sort of protection for that matter, here it is illegal to ride a bike without a helmet

I choose not to wear a helmet, it is optional here in Texas for adults, yet my son (15) NEVER gets on my bike or anyone elses without his. In fact when I bought my first bike the helmet that I got at the same time was sized for him. He may ride at times without one but, not where iI can see him..lol.!
