Why do people question things that have been there for ages? Do you do that too?

I am curious as to why people questions things that should never be questioned in the first place. For example, the bible and it's contents. It has been there for ages but some people still want to argue and debate about it. I know that men are born to discover and to ask but I think that something like that should never be questioned anymore. Besides, it is often the cause of conflicts in the end. What do you think? Do you do that too? I know I don't...^^

As human beings, it's just natural for us to have this urge to accumulate more knowledge, or say, at least feed our curiosity about certain things. I do question some things too. But I never bother questioning the origins of the bible and its contents because faith would come into play in such situation. Questions and debates about religion are usually a face-to-face of skeptics vs. dogmatics.
