What do you think of the $100 Laptop?

On June 7th, co-founder of MIT's Media Lab, Nicholas Negroponte unveiled a working model of the "$100 Laptop" at the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange. The new laptop, built by the "One Laptop per Child Association," is designed to teach students in developing countries about computer technology.
The economical machine boasts:
* Rugged construction to help it withstand extreme temperatures and harsh environments
* A battery that students can recharge with a hand crank
* An all-weather screen to help students work even in direct sunlight
* A modified version of the Linux operating system, Fedora
