sachin opening in the world cup????

I do feel a batsman like tendulkar, as consistent in playing long innings in world cricket, should always be opening. But the problem Indian team has right now is that Yuvraj has come out from injury and hasn't played for a while so somebody is needed to strengthen the middle order. Moreover the batsmen at the top are looking good with ganguly, uthappa and even sehwag looking in some kind of form. So i'd say Tendulkar should bat at no. 4 for first few matches and if the openers perform well then keep that combination or else get tendulkar to open again.

opening in the case of sachinn is just like startinng the race with an old benz c class cr .. u know sachin has the lost ability to perform well in the matches... still he has the quality which he can show it in the middle order...

Yeah i agree it would have very nice if sachin would have opened with sourav as they are the best opening pair in the world today as they have won number of matches opening together putting lot of century partnerships. But i feel team mangement has defensive mindset and will play sachin middle order so that sachin & dravid can control innings from there on which is not sachin's style of play. But i am fully confident that sachin will do well in middle order too as he did in home series against windies and sri lanka in world cup too so that India wins. I feel sehwag will open with ganguly at world cup.

u r rite....but i think in current situation,sachin should come in middle order....this is coz rite now middle order looks a bit dodged...so presence of sachin lends it stability...if quick wickets fall we r assured dat sachin is still there....but if sachin opens n falls quickly then there is a problem in middle order where we r missing guys like kaif n dinesh mongia or laxman who can steady the ship....

i dont think so sachin should open the innings i think saurav and utthapha should open the innings they are in form rite now,sachin should be in middle to make middle order strong
