How essential it is to have a girl or a boyfriend?

what do you think that is it neccessary to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend as becoz others are having and you have to maintain ur image in front of others .In this scenario is it like that you have to have a boy or a girlfriend .Does it embarrase you when others talk about their relations and you are not involved in any such thing?
Does this help in setting a cool image in college or wherever you go.

That's peer pressure!
Mature people never succumb to peer pressure. :P
When you get into boy-girl-relationships, do make sure that the reason is a pure one - out of love. It's quite silly to get together with someone just because you are scared to be different or you feel embarrassed if you don't have a partner.
