What has been the most unexpected act of kindness you've bestowed on another person? What was the most memorable unexpected kindness you showed another person? This ought to be very interesting. My most memorable act of kindness bestowed upon me came from my father many years ago. After he retired he moved here to his farm in Minnesota. Mom had always cooked for him. She always asked after he was done eating, "How was dinner John?" He always answered the same, "It'll pass." That was always funny. Well one day I ws up north visiting them I cooked dinner & he hadn't known this. After dinner Mom asked, "How was dinner John?" I laughed as did mom when he replied, "It was actually great this time." That lives in memory till the die I pass away as the most memorable act of kindness I ever recieved. Now as far as the most memeorable act I bestowed upon another I'd say it was a time during my drug & alcohol abuse days. I was sober one day looking for a ride to the alcohol store store. A kind woman in her 40's picked me up hitchiking. As we talked on the way to the alcohol store she mentioned about how she & her family just got on welfare as her husband was liad off. As I left the vehicle at the alcohol store I dropped a $20 bill on the floor of the car & took off before she knew what I did. She never saw me drop it so thats what was so great about it. I never saw her again either. But I know it made her day wether she knew it was from me or she'd thought she got lucky. Anyhow let's hear your actions etc. Thanks in advance. Now this is funny,myLot wouldn't ley me use the word "l i q u o r" This is too much to take at times. I live in a city called C O O N Rapids & couldn't use the first word typed normally yet it let me for my profile page. Go figure huh?

Wow, great topic. But hard to decide an answer for still.
I worked in a convience store for awhile. It was a cold rainy night & there was only me, the assistan-manager & her son working. The assistant manager was really nice. (Well she was nice to me because her son, the other worker at the time, liked me & she was trying to get me to go out with him) This woman came in with her little boy. They came to the store a few nights a week to get kerosene. She always had on this same outfit, a pair of old jokeing pants with holes in them & a grey shirt with one sleve riped off. Her son was about 4 probably & he always wore dirty clothing that looked like they were about to fall apart with a pair of shoes with holes in them. Everytime they would come in, the little boy would say "Momma, can we get a drink & pice of pizza this time" She would always give him a sad smile & say "not this time baby" This was in a small town but no one knew these people. We asked everyone but no one knew were they lived. Back to the story, This night the little boy asked his mom if they could sit in the store for a few minites to get warm. As they set there, you could almost fell the sadness dripping off them. It was strange, I've never meet anyone else were you could fell there sadness like that. I remembered that we had found a little kids coat in the store a few weeks before & I had put it in the back office. I went & got the coat & my coat, the woman was about the same size as me. Then I got a fresh pizza out of the oven & 2 big cups of hot chocolate. I walked over & gave the coats, pizza & hot chocolate to the woman & her son. The little boy looked up at me & said "MAMA! LOOK! I think she's an angel!" The woman just started crying. Us 3 workers had a tradition. Every night, just before the lottery closed down, we would all buy a scratch ticket & see if we won. On this night it was the guy who was workings turn to buy our tickets. He bought one for the woman too. Of course, we usally didnt win anything. But on this night, My coworker won $50 then assi. manager won $40 & I won $100. Guess what? That woman won $10,000.! She insisted that when she cashed it, we should get some of the money. But we all refused to take any of it. She was so happy & the little boy kept sayin "Can we buy a car? Can I get a new toy? Can I get a hot wheels now?" It was so great, knowing that we had made those people happy. It was probably the first time they had smiled in god knows how long.
The kindess thing anyone has ever done for me. Now that is a hard one. The other day, I was at the store. I had gotten $50 worth of gas. But when I went into pay for it, the cashier said that the guy infront of me had paid for mine & his. I asked if she knew him. She said that no one knew his name but that he did that about 2 times a week. He would come in & pay for his gas & if there was a woman at another pump, he would pay for hers too. I just thought that was so nice of him to pay for gas for someone he didnt know. Then to just leave with out giving them the chance to thank him.

I like to do RAoKs (Random Acts of Kindness) and if they can be anonymous it makes it more fun for me. I saw an older lady walking with two big bags of groceries one day and stopped and offered her a ride, then helped carry her groceries up the steps to her apartment. I felt good the rest of the day. Another time I overheard a co-worker say she was a month behind in her house payment due to medical bills. I found a way to get her mortgage information and made the payment for her anonymously. I love doing things like that and find I always get back much more than I gave.
I've had many kindnesses done for me. Sometimes it's something simple like letting me go ahead in a supermarket line. Other times people have brought food to my house when I was sick and couldn't cook. There are lots of nice people in this world, aren't there?
