Overseas has little to do with it if anything for those kids they have a tighter extended family network. Now for the kids who's parents are to busy trying to keep up with the "Jones's", buying thier kids stuff to accupy thier time. Teaching thier kids there is nothing they can't buy, intead of teaching them that there are consequences for thier actions.

When i get to talk to parents, they always tell me that if they could afford it, they would rather stay in their home country. But they have to go abroad to work because of the children. Workers leave for abroad hoping for a better life for their families

Well know that I see where you are from your discussion makes a little more sense. I guess that would depend on the whole family structure and how supportive thier extended is

I'm sorry but this makes no sense to me. Just because they are working oversees does not mean they don't have their children with them. Are you talking about people who are over there for years or only a week at a time. I see that you are new to mylot. So a little friendly advice, if you want responses to your discussions, you must be a little more descriptive of what you intend.

Because of the physical distance, families don't get talk often about everyday things. This puts a strain on the relationship between the couple and also between parent and kid. The child maybe closer with the parent who is left behind. And we cannot get away from certain feelings [of resentment] when someone misses out on birthdays and other things....
