Hairdressers and age issues

A friends post about blue hair reminded me of a recent irritation in my life. I have soft fine ridiculous brown hair that just lays there. If it grows much it gets stringy looking. Hateful mess. In college i trimmed it about half an inch long all over and bleached it nearly white and it still lay there soft and limp but wow it looked pretty. I wore that look for as long as I could afford to have it done. Home dyejobs are a mistake when you are doing a radical change. Now, I work in a salon, so I can get my hair done all the time any way for almost no money. But I'm up in years and the kids who work there insist on giving me the look they are slapping on all older women who don't beat them down forcibly- an orangish color, fluffed out with fried curly ends. Augh. Ageism in the hair salon-why???? Have you had this experience?

If I were you I'd avoid letting my hairdressers any near my heirs. especially if they are cutting you.
