The other day I started a new discussion about Oscar and we all know how important Oscar is not only for Hollywood but the whole world wait for this ward to anounce.
I have got only five responses to that discussion and only one of them really watched the presentation. What I am wonder is people are no more interested about the famous Accademy Award or people don't care about such event. I don't see other post also about this event.
What do you think is the matter?

I'm one of those who responded to your first discussion and didn't watch the show.. Actually I lost interest in it because it's always about money and big companies and that what makes people/movies win or lose.. I always disagree with the results and the movies that i like many times never even reach the short list, I don't watch many "blockbusters" and I have a different taste in movies now..

i guess the oscar is more important to the actress and actor because they are getting reward for their work, it is a good show to watch, but i guess movies now arent as good what they used to an people really into all of that, or they have better things to do i think that is what happend

It seems that at times, particularly to those big corporations, an Oscar means nothing. Anyway, I have not watched it myself either, but then, you can find out who were nominated, & who had won when you go read the news, whether from a newspaper or on the internet. You can also watch the news on TV & they will tell what was what.
All in all, it does seem that at times, the major television networks don't care about The Oscars either, except maybe being privileged to broadcast it live. One example of this was "Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman" that won, but the idiotic network still cancelled the show.

I think it is important and I agree with you that the whole world wait for the response. I posted on your discussion and I am one of the people taht didn't see the presentation. I think that the announce and the presentation are not the same thing. If you don't watch the presentation on TV it doesn't mean that you are not interested. I am but I don't watch TV.

I feel its all very important. Its the fruits of someones labors. Its their work and their art, and skills. I think that it is all to be appreciated. No matter who does or does not receive an award. It is still the hard work and labor of a their craft. Many of them contribute wonderful things to the morals and well being of positive life lessons. Its totaly unfair not to recogonize their efforts and to appreciate their contributions. I am surprised that there has not been more responses.

I am going to make a bold statement here and I know you may not like it
~~accademy is actually spelt ACADEMY~~ and that is maybe why people have not seen your discussion or maybe why when you search you can not find any discussions relating to it.
Well okay I have just done a search and i will admit there is not much there.
I didn't watch it because I have no real interest in celebrities. I probably wouldn't know Tom Cruise if I walked past him in the street.
Speak soon
