Has anyone been to Cuba? I am going in the summer and want to go to non-touristy places to avoid crowds.

if you want to avoid "touristy" places..steer clear of Veradero, Havana, etc... try Cienfuegos which is a very beautiful area. Or Viñales. As for the upper and middle class Cubans.. THEY DO NOT EXIST!!! My husband is Cuban from the Cienfuegos area and he fled the country when he was 19. Tourists are allowed to go places and eat things that Cubans are not.
